Stu Shutt
Vanguard Partners - Director
As well as co-founding Vanguard Partners, Stu is the owner and founder of Sentinel Homes, a New Zealand wide construction company specialising in custom-designed residential properties.
Under Stu’s leadership, Sentinel Homes has become a recognised volume home builder with franchised operations across New Zealand. With a reputation for innovation, quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service, the business has won numerous awards for their completed projects at both a local and national level.
Stu is a successful entrepreneur and business leader who is able to read market conditions, develop strong commercial propositions, and engage with an extensive professional network to source and leverage opportunities.
With a passion for property and a reputation for quality and ethical business practices, Stu brings insight, expertise and a collaborative approach to all projects and endeavours.
Richard Mcewan
Vanguard Partners - Director
Richard is an experienced leader with a proven track record of success across the banking and property sectors. Over the last 20 years Richard worked for two of the largest residential property developers within New Zealand, culminating in a CEO role for the last nine years. In that role he managed over 300 staff and was completing more than 1,000 residential dwellings per annum across a range of residential housing and land development projects nationwide.
His strategic thinking, commercial nous and market knowledge enables him to assess opportunities and develop solutions efficiently - looking ahead to what is possible, whilst acting pragmatically to determine the best approach to maximise commercial potential.
With experience across all aspects of land and property development, Richard brings insight and capability to a project – from feasibility and finance structures, through to sales negotiation and product marketing strategies. Strong moral and ethical character frames all of his interactions and dealings, and this values-driven approach has created a professional reputation in the market for fairness, integrity and results.
